A mad scientist in a lab couldn't design a show more likely to appeal to the sensibilities of yours truly, or one that dramatically teaches us more about how to succeed in any career or job search, than "The Voice", appearing now on NBC and Hulu. It's a talent show with a twist featuring the nation's scrappiest underdogs, each of them deserving, determined and doggedly running with their dreams towards the future. Bowed and bent, they've survived; belief in themselves and blows from the fates have been their constant comrades along the road too long thus far.
